hello world...

Well, here we are, let me start off by saying that this is truly a great site and a source for hip hop, culture, events, etc etc. There's definitely lots of info on here and we should all take a quick minute to look around and see what new things we can learn!

Okay, so a little about me, My name is Lilly C. I'm 22 years young, live in beautiful southern cali and I have an unconditional love for music, especially, hip hop. Real hip hop of course, not the hip hop that you hear on the radio that is all bullshit talking about airforce ones or lolly this lolly pop that. That my friends is NOT hip hop! I'm very dissapointed in the fact that our generation, thinks that putting out a song about what shoes you wear or any other form of stupid crap is acceptable, it's not!

However, I am very glad that there are a lot of people that are coming to terms with the fact that this mainstream hip hop shit is not cool! I once had a discussion with my boyfriend about how hip hop is supposed to be about "story telling", how just like any other genre of music, it's about conveying a message to the masses, a serious and meaningful message... I mean if the best selling rappers/ hip hop artists are putting out messages about, how much bling you got, how many "bitches" your playing, OMG and don't get me started on the "rapper" i most hate in the world... LIL Motha' Fkin' WAYNE! Who the hell does he think he is? Wow, had i known you could make a hit single about a damn, "LOLLIPOP" Shit, I would have come out with a damn "BON BON" song or somthing! God knows I could use the kind of money he's racking in. But unfortunatly that's not the point, point is, how effing stupid do these so-called  "rappers" think we are? I mean come on... My 5 year old nephew could come up with a song about stupid shit like that.

So my opinion on hip hop. We as fans, need to step up our expectations and not allow the people that we're making rich make a quick dollar just like that. Lets be more proactive and find other sources of real art... why conform to medocrity, and at times even less than that. It's unnacceptable and the only ones that can change it is us, so I say we do something about it! Make them work for their money, and may I add, that the real artists are in the game for the "music" and not the money!

So anyways, thats my 2cents for ya'lls today, I'll be back soon so stay posted!
