mp3 - Achemuda, Sonar Despierto The Last Hour - Krazy Race / Global City (MP3)

There are many cities in Los Angeles County, and just as there are cities, there are also many underground hip hop styles. An MC that comes from the East side of LA County, with his own underground style is Krazy Race.

A devoted MC who is always on the move and representing his city and community - from a small community shows in LA to a concert in Spain, Krazy Race is there on time and on point with his performance.

Currently he is gearing up for his new independent release "The Movement: Strength In Numbers" - dropping in late July. Check out his interview and download his mp3 - "The Last Hour", a track he collaborated with Global City, a downtown LA crew.

LaUnion1910 : How did you get started as an MC ?

Krazy Race : I'm a product of the 70's and was raised on Classic Soul and the Motown era. By the time the late 70's hit and early 80's came around Rap Music had hit us by storm on the West Coast with names like Sugar Hill Gang, Kool Moe Dee, Stready B, Grand Master Flash and many many more. By Mid 80's you had one of the most Influential DJ's on KDAY Mixmaster Tony G spinning and breaking records on the West by Egyptian Lover, Kid Frost, Ice T, Run-Dmc, just to name a few. It was during this time around 1984-85, That I started to pick up the pen and write. Been doing it ever sinceÉNow known to the world as KRAZY RACE.

LaUnion1910 : The Internet has given us the tool to communicate all around the world. How do you use the internet to maximize your promotion and sales ?

Krazy Race :The internet is probably hands down one of the biggest promotional tools for an independent artist to get exposure, to sell product, to create alliances, and to also reach out and touch someone on a world wide scale for production or collabos. A few things that I do is I create a bi-monthly emailer to send out to all my fans worldwide with updates on music, shows, interviews, and anything else that may pertain to whats happening currently with me. I also have a website krazyrace.com and I use the internet along with my street team to go on other sites forums and blast flyers or to promote my upcoming album dropping in July of 2006 or other projects that I'm affiliated with. Also for an upcoming artist or established artist myspace.com is another way of keeping in touch with your fans worldwide. It allows you to upload music for your fans to check out before the album drops Create blogs and give news updates on shows, albums etc. I call all this Guerrilla Marketing Tactics. Check my page at www.myspace.com/krazyrace

LaUnion1910 : What are your expectations for the remainder of 2006 ?

Krazy Race : First and foremost to release my new anticipated album "The Movement: Strength In Numbers" in late July 2006. Another project that will be released in Sept./Oct. of 2006 is my other artist MIC M.C.'s album "On Campus". I will also be working on 1-2 new music videos to go in conjunction with my new album as well as creating a DVD on the history of Krazy Race to be released late in 2006. I will also be re-doing the original krazyrace.com website to add a lot more content and give it a facelift. My music will also be releases on several CD compilations from Ringleader Dj Ace "Ringleader Files", Dj Payback Garcia's "Aztec Souls II", Detane's upcoming album "Hostage" has me featured as well as Global City's new album "Bandits" has me featured also. I also be on Abusivo's new mixtape with the artist Apakalips. Things are moving full speed for me, I'm just trying to stay in the lane.

LaUnion1910 : Who have you worked with? And who would you like to work with ?

Krazy Race : I have worked with a lot of heads in the underground scene for yearsÉ I recently worked with Global City, Detane, Ring Leader Dj Ace, Quinto Sol, Datin, Devious, Beelo, Kemo the Blaxican, Jizzm, Big Quarters, 2 Mex, Gifted Born Wisdom, Rebel Yell, Cire, Dead Silence Alliance and moreÉ I would like to work with in the future Jedi Mind Tricks, Alchemist, Sick Symphonies, Paris, my homie Immortal Technique, Sabac and others.

LaUnion1910 : Who is part of your team ?

Krazy Race : Krazy Race is one man armyÉyea right. I have a movement behind me! In my inner circle is my right hand man on stage MVP. Dj Ace cuts on the 1's and 2's behind me. Krazy Race at one time was a group in the early 90's so all the og members we are all still family. Big Rich, Savage Joe and THC. Production comes from many producers that I'm down with like Ace, Beelo, Cire, Brainwave, Rebel Yell, and moreÉ Izz Hernandez is my mix wizard on most of my projects. Krazy Race Movement is all my friends, family and real supporters world wide!.

LaUnion1910 : What type of people are Krazy Race fans? What are your thoughts on your fans?

Krazy Race : Krazy Race fans understand the message that I kick behind my songs. Krazy Race fans can relate to the struggle, the politics, the culture, the streets. They are political, they are street, they walk with pride, they have their 3rd eye open to whats really going on, but they are also devoted to helping the people and the movement progress. I love my fansÉAll bullshit aside it's them besides my son that keeps me inspired to keep spitting. Thanks for your everlasting support thats real spit!

LaUnion1910 : If you were to describe the LA underground scene to someone across the world, how would you describe it?

Krazy Race : A lot of talented emcees and producers! Music from the soul! Our music reflects the lifestyle we live and see.

LaUnion1910 : Do you read books? If so, what books would you recommend ?

Krazy Race : I would recommend books like "Always Running" by Luis Rodriguez, Another good book when it comes to politics and conspiracy theories is "Rule by Secrecy" by Jim Marrs. I'm a fan of David Icke check his books out. Homie spits some heavy shit.

LaUnion1910 : Last year you went to perform in Spain, what was your experience there ?

Krazy Race : Off the hook man, they embraced our Chicano and Chicana culture. The crowd was about 9000 deep and they roared. The energy was outta control. I have pictures in my blog section of our trip at www.myspace.com/krazyrace I'm looking forward to doing another tour in Europe. This time I want to hit Germany, Amsterdam, Spain, Italy and then go to Japan.

LaUnion1910 : Can you tell us about your upcoming album ?

Krazy Race : My new album is titled "The Movement: Strength In Numbers" and this album is full spectrum of what I bring to the hip hop table. This album shows my growth but at the same time shows what Krazy Race is all about. I like to speak on topics most run from. This album will have many featured artist and m.c.'s as well as producers. That's why I named the album what I did because I believe in that 100%. We as a people have strength in numbers.

Krazy Race : We showed our strength in numbers on May 1st, 2006 nationwide. I truly cant wait to have the tangible CD finished in my handÉ This album will be in a class of its own not because its mine, but because of all the Energy and people that blessed it with me. The Album is coming soon and will be dropped in late July of 2006!
