LA's Newest Free Agent - Obrown is one of LA's most dedicated MC's. From working with Breal to a mixtape with Dj Eddie One, he is always on top of his game. His dedication and skills has already been recognized by Interscope, and we're sure other labels are going to be keeping their ears open to OBrown this coming year. OBrown hooked us up with one of his dopest tracks "Sky is Grey", this song will give you a glimpse of OBrowns styles and lyrical skill.

OBrown1. where did you grow up? At what year did you realize you wanted to be an MC?
I grew up around Jefferson Park by U.S.C 36th st and Western.. Then I moved 2 midcity by Midtown shopping Center then Elsereno then Back to Midcity then later on to Culver City....I started writing in 1997 recorded my first song at Smokey Robinson's house.. It was magic from the start...

02. What type of music was being played in your home as a kid?

My dad was a Dj he played Ben E King, Tyrone Davis, James Brown, Lionel Richie, lots of soul music, HipHOP, reggae, spanish, classic rock u name it he played everything...

03. What are some of the first hip-hop songs you remember while growing up?

Rock The Bells LL Cool J, IF I Ruled The World Kurtis Blow, Roxanne Roxanne Utfo, Hard Times and Its Like That RUn DMC, Teenage Love SLick Rick, Fuck The Police NWA, Too Short Freaky Tales, I got IT Made Special ED, Paid In FUll ERIC B and RAKIM, TONITE DJ QUICK, HUMPTEY DANCE DIGITAL UNDERGROUND, I LEFT MY WALLET IN SLEGUNDO TRIBE CALLED QUEST....

04. You've been working with one of LA's classic producers, Javi Lopez, for a while, how did you guys meet up?
How do you describe Javi's style? We performed at a club in 1998 and met Fernando and Jesse he told us he had a production team. NEV and I rolled down to the studio took a listen to the beats and then they asked us if we needed a Dj and we said yeah.. They called up Javie Lopez and he rolled through.. He played us his beats and we were hooked. He joined Trilogy and we were on our way.....

05. Tell us about your group "Trilogy" and members N.E.V. And Kaos. What has been your experience with Trilogy?
Good times!!! We recorded song after song rehearsed in studios and perfected stage shows.. We packed and rocked the house everytime...And with Javie Lopez beats, we were unstopable. Our Shows were so dam hyped the audience went crazy everytime... We had feel good songs and songs about life and daily struggles...

06. What are some of the producers you have worked with? Who are you working with now?
Ive worked with B REAL, Track Dilla, Kirv, Nalo, Dave Aron, XL, Keef, Javie Lopez.. Im going to continue 2 work with all these producers now and in the future...

07. We've heard you on Breal's mixtapes, how did you link up with B? Are you working with him in any future projects?
Trilogy opened up for B REAL 2 times.. He told me he made beats so we started working together. When i started working with B Real my style went to another level... B Real and Mellow is fam so im sure once im done with my project NEW WEST FREE agent I'll be back at the temple....

08. Tell us about your upcoming project with Dj EDDIE ONE OF THE HEAVY HITTERS AND DJ BABY GEE?
Its going to be hosted by DJ EDDIE ONE OF THE HEAVY HITTERS AND DJ BABY GEE
Thats NEW WEST FREE AGENT thats the name of my album/mixtape that im dropping.. With all original production dropping late March....
09. If you were to give an award for "life time achievement in hip hop", who would you give that award to? And why? LL COOL J hes been holding it down since the 80s

10. What are your plans for 2008? What can we expect from O Brown in the next few years?
Ive had positive meeting at Interscope, so my plans right now is 2 drop my mixtape and find a home.. Get that machine behind me.....ITS ABOUT THAT TIME..
